Anyone do much of it?

I have started doing it for very low stakes, and I have to say it is quite fun. Twice I've gone all in and lost when I could have walked away £20 up minutes earlier, so that needs to be addressed sharpish :D

Wondering if anyone has any tips for me really? More fun in real life, but it can still be quite exciting at times online.

Don't lose your shirt. :D

Gamblers always start off with small amounts and then it can escalate enormously - just what the big organisations want.

Seriously, be VERY careful. Gambling organisations get very rich on the punters' money.

I play a lot of backgammon online, but never for money however small a stake.
And i know the old ruse, you win a few games & then the stake gets doubled & you loose the lot after being hoodwinked in to up the money. Their are online poker games were you play for virtual money.

I only gamble on the national & then only 50p each way for 5 horses at £5 stake.
And yes i once won £78 but that was years ago!

Haha thanks for those comments, I'm not addicted to it. In fact, it is more of an annoyance sometimes.

The thing is, I like poker, I think it is great fun. I like playing it in real life, but the chances to do so are few and far between, and when you use play money online games, people don't play seriously, they just go all in off the bat and make the game pointless. I've never won a game in my whole life - I'm certainly not in it for the money

I usually play at 2p/4p blinds, and buy in for £3-5, maybe once a week. We are talking tiny stakes here! Even though they are tiny, people play far more seriously than in play money, and it makes the game relatively serious and exciting. I started watching poker tournaments on TV too, which made me look like a chump

Ah well, I appreciate the concern anyway :D

Poker is just another form of entertainment that you pay for.

And you do pay for it, you NEVER end up ahead.

Only difference with this entertainment is it can be addictive and lead to heavy financial losses.

Only gambling I do is the occasional lottery ticket and maybe a game of cards for a few quid at Christmas sometimes.
