Old version WinXP Pro

I got a copy of XP Pro right after it came out. Never installed.
(Currently running win2K, have lots of files for web design and associated
server stuff installed and the thought of re-doing it just wears me out).

I assume this disk is fine for a new install (I would start on a new HD),
and just update via MS Update?

Windows XP is still the same other than the updates and Service Pack.
Install Windows XP as normal then install SP-2 before physically
connecting the computer to the internet.

So when you are doing a clean install is there a need to
load SP1 update before SP2? Or does SP2 contain the
security updates requiered in SP1?

SP2 is all inclusive. you can go from the original version directly to SP2.
