Installation starting from WinXP SP2 - application of SP3

Hi,
I need to make an installation of a new machine.
I have a WinXP disk with integradted SP2.
May I install with this disk and then, immediatly apply SP3 (which I have
downloaded from Microsoft) or is it better to make the update via Windows
Update ?

Installing as you suggest is a good idea.. go ahead with it..

Make sure you reboot after your XP installation is up and running before
installing SP3, there's a known bug with SP3 installation if you do it
directly after the XP installation.

Make sure you reboot after your XP installation is up and running before
installing SP3, there's a known bug with SP3 installation if you do it
directly after the XP installation.
