OL2002 contact list entries used for addresses in Words

When I migrated from OE to OL2002 in XP, all my former OE pab address book
entries were exported to OL2002 Contacts list. OL address book is set to
list the Contacts entries. In Words, I can select an address in the
address book/contacts list to transfert it to an envelope.

My problem arises when I create a new contacts who does not have an email
address. Such a contact does not show in the address book and cannot be
used to address an envelope by selecting his/her name in the address book
while in Words "Envelopes and Labels" tool windows.

Yet I noticed that some previous entries in OE pab address book which
didn't have an email listed, did transfert properly to OL2002 Contacts
list and are still listed in OL address book that is, they are available
for pasting to envelopes.

How should I proceed to add a new contact with an address but no email so
that I can use such a contact entry for addressing an envelopes?

Thanks in advance

Thanks Russ but ... sorry, it didn't work

I had to enter the following:

[No email address found]

in the email field of the Contacts configuration window.

For this I copy and pasted [No email address found] from a contact entry
with no email which had been created automatically when I imported my
previous address book and mail file from OE.

Strange, the [No email address found] carried with it the name of the
contact I copied it from. It showed up when I saved my new entry, so I had
to edit the Display as: field to insert the actual name of the contact I
created.

Did you try just creating a new Outlook profile?
Word does not require an email address to be present for a Contact to appear
in its address book as long as your Profile is intact and has a connection
between the Outlook Address Book and your Contact Folder. One of those two
things is corrupt.

When the Word Address Book shows only Contacts with e-mail addresses,
that
usually means you did an inplace upgrade from IMO support mode of Outlook
and Word's Address book remains linked to your old Outlook profile. This

Oops... indeed Russ it appears that I worked without having created a user
profil:
I right clicked the OL icon, selected Properties | Show Profiles and the
single profil listed is named Outlook !! It must have been created by
default. The matching Personal folders Outlook.pst is listed under my user
name in XP C:\Document and Settings....

Afraid of loosing my settings, I used "Copy ..." to create a new profil
with my name from the Outlook profil which I then deleted.
I am not sure about the connection between OL Address book and the Contact
folder. I think it was there since the contact folder entries did show in
the Address book although only the one with an email address ot the No
email address found entry
