Office XP install Hang

ive tryed installing office xp on my win xp pro system.
even after a clean installs of xp pro and i seem to run
into a hang in the middle of the Preparing to Intall
process. it gets about half way and dies. the program is
still responding, but never finishes preparing to
install..just wondering if anyone knows about this
problem or if there anything i can do about it

You should probably get the boot disks from microsoft's website and blow out the old copy. I have had to do that several times to many machines I work on.
