OEM Activation

OK, I have a situation on my hands here:

This old A8N-E motherboard burnt out. So, I had to get another one. I had
this brand spanking new copy of Vista OEM, never installed, never activated
which I was saving for the final upgrade on this machine (I'm aware of the
restrictions on the motherboards and the OEM, I don't agree with them, but
that's another story, hence why I was saving this copy for the upgrade). Now
I'm forced to use it and I have nothing else on hand to install and it is
critical that this machine be up and running.

The situation is this:
This motherboard/cpu are holdovers, and scheduled for upgrade to a better
CPU/motherboard. And while Vista is installed, it has NOT been activated yet
(I expect to be updating these components BEFORE the time runs out on the
activation). So, while it is installed, and not activated, will I receive
flak if the hardware goes through its final upgrade transition and Vista ends
up being installed to the new configuration? I am under the impression
that it's not bound to any hardware in any way until it's finally activated.
Is this correct?

There is a possibility that the new hardware could be delayed beyond that of
the activation period. I expect that if that's the case then re-activation
by phone and some explaining (and even a little voodoo) will be required?

Thanks

If you have not activated ,I cannot see a problem.

Install new h/w

format ,<if there's nothing there you need on hdd>

Install/config drivers etc vista

Activate vista

Job DONE
