Vista Activation

I installed Vista Ultimate OEM about 27 days ago and activated it over the
internet and have been using it with no problems. Today I booted up the
computer, went into "system", and saw that it said I only had three more
days till I had to activate Vista. What gives? I already activated this. I
haven't changed any hardware whatsoever from the first time it was
activated. The only thing I've done is the usual upgrading of drivers,
installing new software, etc. etc. The only other thing I did was upgrade
the bios on my i-680 chipset motherboard. I wouldn't think that this would
trigger an activation. Anyway, I figured what the he--, I'll just activate
it again via the internet. It failed and I had to call Microsoft. I didn't
have to talk to a live person cause it verified the product key and the
electronic voice gave me the new numbers. I just don't understand why I had
to do this. Anyone got any ideas?

I activated, flushed my bios and immediately had to activate again!

In some cases this has happened because of a change in hardware drivers
causing Vista to kick off a detection cycle, others have reported the same
after BIOS upgrades. Since it worked out well in the end ...
