oe and attachments

I just got a new computer with XP and
now all my attachemnts in OE are deleted.
I am running Norton. how do I stop OE from
deleting all these?

The ability to get at attachments to email in OE6 SP1 is disabled for
security reasons... BUT you can enable it an get at all those attachments.
Here's what you need to do:
Open OE6 and select tools/options
Select the security tab
Make sure the check box beside "Do not allow attachments to be saved or
opened that could potentially be a virus" is unchecked and you should be
OK(as long as the attachment is not a virus).

They are not deleted, just blocked. Open OE/Tools/options
and click the security tab. The 4th box is checked by
default for your protection. If you're sure an attachment
is safe, uncheck the box and you can access the attachments.

But be careful, be sure your anti-virus is current, check
for updates daily.
Do all Window critical updates.
Turn on the firewall or download ZoneAlarm www.zonelabs.com
to protect you from Msblaster type worms.
