"OBJECT tag removed" - what is this?

computer novice here. Why does "OBJECT tag removed"
appear on sites. One situation is when using my school's
web-based email system and I try to compose a message.
Another time, when I receive a greetin card email. Can
anyone help?

Any pop up killer or some security software installed?
They can remove tags...
