Sending Email Problems

I am running XP professional and working in MS Office 07.

If i am not current in the outbox folder I can forward/reply and send an
email and it goes to the outbox. Doing a manual send/receive and things work
out ok. If I am current in the outbox folder and compose an new emial and hit
the send button, and it is the only message in the folder, by default the
selection (highlighted line) is on the newly composed email and for some
reason and removes the status from send icon to the draft icon. When then
performing a manual send/receive the function will not send the item tagged
with the draft icon. How can I fix this?

Don't be viewing the Outbox when you send a message.

Yes Brian I undarstand that, but I should be able to view my email in the
outbox without turning tham all into drafts where thay will not be sent. It
did not operate that way on previous versions and there should be a toggle or
setting somewhere that would change that option. Thanks for your help but is
there any other suggention?

Just for grins, I did what you described and was viewing my Outbox while a
message was waiting to be sent. I was using Outlok 2003 at the time. The
message appeared, Outlook highlighted it blue (it was in focus), but it
remained italicized until it was actually sent. I can't explain why you saw
what you saw. Try starting Outlook in safe mode and see if anything
changes.
