NTVDM.EXE sabotoging my work!

ABout five times a day WINDOWS XP Pro v5.1 will boot me
out of various applications, with the message:

"NTVDMexe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
Please tell Microsoft."

I have no video games (zero) on my computer.

NTVDM is the Virtual DOS Machine. If you're getting booted out of
various apps, they must be all Windows 3.1 (Win16) apps. Since all
Windows 3.1 apps run in one virtual machine under XP, a crash of one
Win16 app will take them all down. Maybe it is one problematic app that
is causing all the crashes. You might want to try running them one at a
time and see if you can figure out which Win16 app is the unstable one.
