NTBackup and Veritas Backup Exec 9.0

B

Bill

Since I have some DLT tapes backed up using NTBackup, and some using
Veritas Backup Exec 9.0, I'd like to be able to restore from each.
However, Removable Storage and NTBackup don't seem to recognize/read
the DLT's backed up using NTBackup since I installed Veritas 9.0.

Is there some way to use both NTBackup and Veritas 9.0 on the same
machine?

TIA,

When you've installed Veritas, have you check "Yes" when
the setaup asked Claim all device to Veritas Backup Exec?
or something like that?

Hi Bill,

What I have seen in the past with this issue is that Veritas replaces the
tape driver with one that is not RSM aware. I suspect that you can
uninstall Veritas and Ntbackup will work?

Thanks for the lead, Ken. I'll uninstall Veritas and see whether
NTBackup "comes back".

BTW, what's "RSM"?
