Not Responding on most application

Whether I am working in Word or on the Net the program will just stop responding.
I send error report and it has something about window crashes
 
many times its a conflict, or out dated driver, or too
many thing going on.
 
What do I need to do
recently i asked someone to add access and publisher97, but they also added Mircosoft office 97 to my Windows XP. Now i can not remove Microsoft office 97 because i don't have a disc.
