Not Responding (djt)

I am using Windows xp (home edition)
When using various web sites (especially when trying to download Adobe Flash
Player) and control panel I get the error message 'Program Not Responding'
and cannot exit immediately.
By clicking X the not responding panel appears and hangs for about a minute
before exiting.
I cannot download the 'add on' for eBay (enhanced picture uploader) as the
screen hangs (eBay tell me that it is my fault as they cannot emulate the
problem) and some other web sites appear to have the same problem.
I have no trouble when using Mozilla Firefox which I installed out of
frustration.
Am I stuck with Firefox or is there a solution?

One must assume that you are talking about a problem with Internet Explorer;
however, assuming things often gets me in trouble. If you are using IE, you
should post to an IE newsgroup.

It might be helpful to identify in your new post what version of IE you are
using.
