not prompting for user name and password

Hi,
On my old computer, I used Frontpage to edit a website on the yahoo server,
I just opened Frontpage, clicked open, typed the site, click to enter and I
would be prompted for a user name and password. After entering, I could see
all of the folders. Well that computer broke and I just got another one with
MS Vista (old one was XP), installed FP 2003 and 2002 server extensions, but
when I open the site, I am not prompted for the user name and password and
the folder list in folder view is blank and I am not able to make edits. Is
there something I'm missing in setting things back up that I did years ago on
my old computer that I'm not remembering, or is there something new because
of Vista. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have already spent hours
trying to get it to work and still it won't prompt me for the password.

Thanks,
Theresa

How are you opening the site in FP
- using File Open Site (not File Open) and entering the URL as http://www.yoursitename.com/

On my old computer, I would go to File->Open and open the site that way and
it would then prompt for the password. That's how I am getting the site open
now on this new computer, but no longer getting prompted for PW. I read a
few posts recommending trying the File->Open Site, so I tried, but get the
message saying the folder isn't accessible, may be located in an unavailable
location, protected with a password or the file name contains a / or \. The
website is a .org rather than a .com if that makes a difference. I have
adjusted the internet options security user authentication logon to prompt
for pw under tools, and I think I successfully installed the 2002 server
extensions from a website saying they were compatible with Vista. Very
frustrating. Thank you so much for any help you can provide.
