Not able to close IE window

Can't close IE window by clicking "X" mark or through
File, Close. Did System Restore, System Recovery, Windows
Updates - nogo..

Disable all the Browser Helper Objects and try again:

Use BHOCop or BHODaemon utility.

Additionally, run any of these utilities:
SpyBot S&D searches your harddisk for Spyware and Adware

Adaware (similar)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
