Norton Internet Security 2006

I just installed Norton Internet Security 2006 but I can not remove the
norton icons or tool bars from Outlook.
The 'tools' and 'cutomize' pull down menus only allow me to remove them but
they reappear when restart the program to access e.mail. How do I
permanently remove the icons and/or tool bars until I want to run the Norton
programs?

You cannot, unless you use the NIS configeration to remove the OL
integration.
PS this has nothing to do with running the NIS app, its simply you have
chosed to use NIS AV and Spam pluggin / integration with OL
