Norton antivirus

I do understand that this site is for Windows xp problems and questions.

I did a clean install of xp 2 weeks ago. Everthing was running great, like a
new computer. Today I ran symantecs liveupdate, and the virus definitions
would not download. My 2005 Norton antivirus has a renewal date of
12/30/1899.

Is there an easy fix for this?,or must I remove amd reinstall this software,
or get another antivirus product that may not be prone to this type of
problem ??

Live and learn. I was not aware that Norton was already building an AV in 1899 <vbg)

Try a reboot and see if you can try to download the live update again

If nortons does not work on your pc then use a free and better antivirus
program.
 
When you did a clean installation did you remove nortons completel
before you reinstall xp.I have seen when you reinstall window ove
nortons without uninstalling it first, it will not functio
properly. I would remove nortons all files and live update files to
and reinstalled it. I have been using norton for years and never ha
proble
