noisy fan?

Camroc

Sometimes when I boot up my PC the fan vibrates and makes a very loud sound.

If I restart, the fan works fine.

Is this caused by a build up of dust or is the fan on its last legs?

It is 5 years old.

Thanks,

Camroc.

Could be either, or both. Try blowing out the fan with a can
of compressed air (available at any computer or electronics
store) and see if it helps.

five years??? I see major dust in your box. I blow mine out at least 2 times
a year. If your fan is bad, they are cheap and easy to replace.

grab a screwdriver, pop the hood and have a look!!
