Hi, installed vista last night on my desktop, Intel D945PVS board, with dual
core CPU. Everthing went well expect for the the sounds, initialy Vista
intalled some "HD driver", but there was no sounds. Next I downloaded newest
audio driver from Intel, and now I have very scrathing sound. Everthing works
down to the raid drivers, it's just the sound thats missing. Please any
advice will be nice,
Thanx Bobby

Hi,

Searching Intel's site reveals that they have not yet produced or released a
sound card driver that is Vista compatible for that board. Other than
bugging them about it or simply playing the waiting game, there is not much
else you are going to be able to do. I am assuming you went here for the
most recent XP driver release:
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scr...&OSFullName=Windows* XP Professional&lang=eng
and if it isn't working, there is not much else you can do for the time
being.

Thanks, I have managed to get the sound working!! I uninstalled/re-installed
the driver from control panel/system/device manager a couple of times and
noticed that the mouse sounds clicks :), the sonic panel fails to load, but
i'm not complaining at this stage. Yes, I did use the xp64 driver from their
website, but think it was the original driver that came with the board that
worked. Sigma Tel, 4/27/2005, driver version 5.10.4487.0
Thanks Bobby
