No Sound

Outlook 2003 suddenly would not start up. After reinstalling Outlook, I
noticed I had lost all sound. It looks like a sound file is playing (in
Windows Media) but there is no sound. Went through all steps of Sound
troubleshooter but there was no fix. Reinstalled sound driver (RealTek).
Ran the Office repair from the Office 2003 setup disk. Have rebooted after
all fix attempts. Still no sound.

DirestSound test results: Failure at step 19 (User verification of
software): HRESULT = 0x00000000 (error code)

reinstall the updated drivers for your sound card from www.drivers.com. u can
also run the driver agent which will scan ur computer for the version of the
driver and tell u the exact driver to be installed.
