Afternoon-

Here's my major malfunction: I can't get any of the sound on this machine to
actually intialize. It's not my computer so I have no idea what card is in
use. I'm assuming I need to reinstall the drivers but I don't know which ones
to get, much less where to get them at. If anyone can give me some help I'd
really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,
Jooz

If you go into the device manager, the sound card should be listed, possibly
showing a problem,
a yellow exclamation point or a red X, or neither of these if the problem of
no sound is another cause,
like powered speakers not being plugged in, (its happened)

I went into the device manager and there was, of course, a yellow icon next
to the Multimedia Audio Controller listed under Other Devices. Here are the
statistics it gave me:

Device Type: Other Devices
Manufacturer: Unknown
Location: PCI bus 0, device 31, function 5

I tried to reinstall the driver but Windows said it couldn't locate the
hardware in and of itself. This is what reads under the Driver tab:

Multimedia Audio Controller
Driver Provider: Unknown
Driver Date: Not available
Driver Version: Not available

If your computer came with a cd, try putting that in the drive before
attempting to locate drivers. Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.
