essential tools ?
Well, I was quite serious when I suggested another computer beside it - with
XP on it.
When 98 goes "tits up" you've still got a working machine. ...of course the
converse of that situation is true !

My Win98SE is as stable as a rock, but - admitedly - I do maintain it.
Besides which, if something really goes astray in Windows, I know I can
always boot into DOS mode, and, if necessary, fix it there (well, most of
the time, anyways).

Since you apparently can't do that with WinXP (and NTFS), I don't have a
clue as what you're supposed to do, if all hell breaks lose. Sounds a bit
scary to me. (I mean, if you take away my DOS core here, what's left)?

I certainly do believe one NEVER should say "never", & an appropriate
punishment should be meted out to those who do. (I THINK I heard
Colorado say it once-- & about Windows Update criticals!)
