I have a WinXP Home PC running IE 6 SP 1. There are 5
user accounts on this machine. On one of the accounts, IE
will not display any gif's. There is not any border, any
picture with a red x or anything -- just blank space.
I've checked all the settings, firewalls, etc. and all is
ok there. In the other 4 accounts, everything displays
fine. Any ideas what to do? I have all the available
Windows updates installed. I am clueless about what to
try next. Thanks for any info!

Jeff,

The troubleshooting steps in this page still applies in your case:
Red X: http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/redx.htm

Ad-blockers/firewalls have an option to display 'nothing' in place of an image.

If nothing works, (and you say the problem is with the current user profile), create a new user profile and transfer your data to the new profile. More Information at: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=811151
