Hi There,

I just have a question regarding a small problem in IE,
the problem is that whenever i go to download a file it
doesn't prompt if i want to open, save or cancel the
download, instead it automatically downloads and opens
it. It's not a major problem, I'm still able to download
it - I just find it annoying when I want to directly save
a file to disk

IE Verison: 6.0
Windows XP Pro

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

Where is it opening the file? Is Internet Explorer displaying the file for you?

Sounds like an association problem. In Control Panel, select Folder Options.
Under File Types, find the extension you would like to give you a choice, and
hit Change. Uncheck "Always use the selected program...". Also, check the
Advanced settings.

And Chris, please don't contribute to the spread and success of email address
mining viruses. Learn to munge your email address properly, to keep yourself a
bit safer when posting to open forums. Protect yourself and the rest of the
internet - never post your address unmunged.
