Hi There,

I just have a question regarding a small problem in IE,
the problem is that whenever i go to download a file it
doesn't prompt if i want to open, save or cancel the
download, instead it automatically downloads and opens
it. It's not a major problem, I'm still able to download
it - I just find it annoying when I want to directly save
a file to disk

IE Verison: 6.0
Windows XP Pro

Thanks,
Chris

Sometimes get that problem too, especially with .pdf files.
One workaround is to press the red stop button at the top when the file
starts to download.
Then instead of left-clicking on the link that started the download,
right-click on it and choose "Save Target as...". You can then choose where
to save it.

I seem to remember there is an option to select to cancel the dialog. Try
to disable downloads in the Tools, Internet Options menu under the Security
Tab. Just select disable and try to download something. Maybe this will
clear all of the flags. Then re-set it to allow downloads and see if that
helps.
