No bootup screen through DVI

Hi, I've just upgraded my monitor to a 19inch lcd and connected it via the
DVI cable, but now i can not see the bootup screen or access the bios setup.
Monitor only comes to life at the windows log in screen.

If i connect via the vga cable everything works fine, but i would like to
use the DVI cable due to the great picture quality.

Thanks.

Look for the Menu button on your new monitor and press it. Then look for a
heading titled "Video Input Select". Open that menu and make a change to
"Auto Detect".

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have already tried doing this to no avail. If
just the DVI cable is connected i dont get anything on the monitor until the
windows log on screen,

If i connect just the vga cable, i get the bootup screen,

If both cables are connected at once the monitor overides the vga signal and
only powers on at the windows log on screen,

Thanks
