No Audio Driver

I have a HP Pavillion 533w and it's been in the household for nearly two
years now. One day, the OS crashed and I was unable to load up Windows after
that. It kept saying that the Windows folder was missing a crucial startup
file. I was forced to erase everything on the drive, reformat it, and
reinstall Windows XP. All my drivers were deleted, and I had to hunt them
down from HP.com since the computer didn't come with any kind of recovery cd.
However, I was able to find the video driver and my monitor now works
properly. I still can't find the right audio driver. All I know is that I
have an HP Integrated Audio Driver. The system also has a D Recovery Drive
and it was uncorrupted the whole time, but I don't know how to use it.
Please help. Any comments and suggestions would be helpful. Thank you.

There are two possible locations for audio drivers. The manufacturer of your
sound card or if you don't have one then the manufacturer of your mother
board as it will be what is providing your sound. Everest Home Edition is
free and once installed will tell you all about what makes up your system and
in many cases provide a link to the drivers for those devices. After two
years you would think that you would know how to go to the manufacturers
sites of your various components and install the drivers. As for you hidden
partition or recovery partition try HP and send them a question. They are
usually quite helpful. }:~)

Well, my Pavillion didn't come with Everest, but I will send a message to HP.
Thank you for your help, and if you have any additional input, please post
another message.

Firstly: Brandon you are a total n00b
Secondly: Your computer doesn't come with Everest, it is a freeware program
that you can find in Google.com by simply typing Everest Home Edition.
Thirdly: How can you not get drivers for your comp!!!! What a /\/0o8

The recovery partition, on HP computers, usually can be accessed by
pressing F10 as the POST ends. This is your Windows XP CD, and the only
way to do a repair (non-destructive) install.

Secondly, HP is not very helpful. I've sent them emails for various
reasons and it sounds like they're outsourced and stupid. Total n00bs,
IMHO. Go to The Driver Guide (driverguide.org?) and search for HP
Integrated Audio, or whatever you've got. Free registration is
required, but hey, they do have a lot of drivers.

Try going to start..programs...pc help and tools. There should be an
HP Application Recovery tool there and you can install drivers from
there.
