no audio -deleted my drivers???

M.L.

I was deleting programs to make my computer run faster and must have
inadverterantly deleted my drivers for my audio. I no longer have a volume
icon at the bottom of my computer and the device manager says it has no audio
device detected. I read in one post to use the disc that came with my
computer to download the audio again, but I don't know if I have that . . .
Is there anywhere I can go to download the drivers again? Or does anyone
think this might be something else and have any ideas for me??? I can't
afford to pay $59.00 to send an email to tech support!!! Thanks for any and
all support - I'll try anything!!

Hello,

Without knowing what sound card you have, this is going to be a tedious
task.

Does your system have any brand? Dell, HP, etc? If so, what is the model
number?

If not, we need to identify the motherboard you are using since you most
likely are using the integrated sound.

You can use CPU-Z to identify your motherboard -
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php - run the program, go to the Mainboard tab and
tell us the information under Motherboard Manufacturer, Model and Chipset.

A few ideas:

- Restore all files from the Recycle Bin.. surely you left them there
till you saw what the outcome was going to be.

- Go to the computer manufacturer web site and download the drivers for
your model.

- Programs only slow the computer if they're running in the background,
not because they're stored on the HD. In the future, you should remove
programs using the Add/Remove Programs control. Delete Temp files from
Temp folders, then run a defrag. You only need to do a defrag once a
month or so, after a few installs and removals of software, or after a
few updates.

Removing programs is not going to make your PC run faster - unless you are
short on free disk space

Too late now, but for the future, be aware of this:

Deleting programs will *not* make your computer run faster. What you
have installed makes no difference to speed. What you have *running*
makes a difference.

From the manufacturer of the computer, or if you have a separate audio
card, perhaps from the manufacturer of the audio card.

Be leery of advice from a SPAMMER. They have a different agenda than
their pretense of giving help. This one does know how to put his spam
in a signature (after a sigdash line) as evidenced by his first posts
but refuses to do so now because he is scared of newsreaders that strip
off signatures. He wants to ensure to shove his spam in your face.
