I've just moved up to XPHome and am getting used to how the various user
accounts work and trying to minimise duplicated files on my C partition.
I have an Amin account and a User account for myself, and then a User
account for my wife, plus a custom created User account for visitors.
The Guest account is disabled.
2 questions
1- when installing and configuring security software (AV and
antispyware) via my Admin account - is it enough to set up scans and
monitoring within the Admin account, and just have the background
monitoring going in the
other accounts - or should each user account have the security programs
set to do a scan? Will those scans normally by default check the folders
of the other users if run from within the Admin account?
2 - When I install a program, how do I install it so that it creates a
desktop and taskbar icon for each user? Or is this something that simply
has to be done manually?
Any url explaining how Accounts work in XP much appreciated. Thanks.
