I am trying to setup XP on a new hard disk. I've had a
crash(?) on my original disk and am hoping that by loading
XP on a second drive, I may be able to clone the first
onto the second using Norton SystemWorks.
However, my problem is the following:
I've run the XP Setup floppies, started the XP
Installation CD, partitioned the 80 GB drive into 3
partitions and formatted C: with a NTFS file system. When
I try to install XP on the C: partition, I get the
following error message:
Window XP Professional Setup
============================
The following value in the .SIF file used by Setup is
corrupted or missing:
Value 0 on the line is section [SourceDisksFiles] with
key "SP1.cab."
Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3.
Obviously, this is not very helpful and I have no idea if
it can be overcome, or how to go about it if it can be.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bob
