XP Professional Installation Problem

I'm doing a clean install on my Dell. I purchased XP Professional and after I
formatted the C: drive I couldn't install with the rom so I used the floppy
disks provided through Microsoft website for making floppys to install
Windows XP Professional.

I get to the point where it's starting to install and I get this error
message:

"The following Value in the .sif file used by setup is corrupted or missing.
Value 0 on the line in section [sourcedisksfiles] with key "sp2.cab"
Setup can not continue. To quite Setup. Press F3

Why am I getting this error. Does it have to do with the setup disks or an
error that's on the CD itsef? It's an OEM version.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just FYI when I try to use just the cd for the boot it tells me that NTLDR is
missing and to press CTRL+ALT+ Delete to restart. So booting from just the
rom isn't going to work.

You downloaded the wrong set of setup disks.
Read the following article carefully and download
the correct setup disks based on which version of
Windows XP you have.

Note: The Windows XP CD is bootable so you really
do not need the setup floppy disks. Open the BIOS
and set the CD Drive as the first bootable device.

Hi Melzy
I had exactly the same problem yesterday. Try going into BIOS and changing
the options so that the computer boots from the CD ROM first. Then boot
directly from the CD. My computer was set to boot from floppy first, hard
drive second, CD third and I got the exact same message as you. I think that
changing the BIOS is worth trying.
