My computer crashed and I am in the process of re-
installing Windows XP Home addition. I went to microsoft
and made a boot disk for windows xp so I could re-install
the software. Everything worked great, including the
creation of a new partition. When I was asked to insert
the original xp cd, and it began to install I got the
following message:

The following value in the .SIF file used by setup is
corrupted or missing

Value on the line in section [Sourcedisksfiles] with
Key "SP1.cab."

Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3.

Does anyone know what I need to do. Thanks in advance for
your help.

Hi stablerdonnia,

Ensure that you're using the correct set of setup disks for the version of
XP Home that you're installing. If the install CD is for XP Home with
Service Pack 1, then you need to use the setup disks that are created from
the d/load available here:
