With great trepidation, decided to install XP Pro on this new computer
instead of ME. Now I've got a few ?'s I hope someone can help me with.

1. Where/what is the XP equivalent of msconfig (Startup tab, esp.)?

2. Where/what is the equivalent of Scandisk?

More to follow as I come up with them. :)

Greetings --

1) The same: Start > Run > MSConfig.exe

2) Start > Run > Cmd > Chkdsk.exe /? for the correct syntax and
available options. Alternatively, double-click My Computer >
right-click the desired hard drive > Properties > Tools >
Error-checking/Check Now. This will run Chkdsk, normally on the next
reboot.

Go to "start" then "Run" Type in msconfig. It will take
you there. The operating system will run Scandisk when
there is a problem It will load on startup.

1. msconfig is still msconfig. To use it in XP click Start, Run, then type
in msconfig and click OK.
2. The equivalent to scandisk is check disk (chkdsk).Start, Run, type
chkdsk, OK

1. Start then select Run
Type: msconfig

2. Already answered further up.

Nothing against you, but did you even try to run msconfig before you asked what it's replacement was? It has no replacement, it's
still msconfig.
