Activate ####s XP PRO

I bought my grandkids a nice starter computer for Christmas . It had Wi
2000 on it from new . With the computer I also got a Win XP Pro disc an
COA . I installed the XP pro and noticed the "activate within 30 days
notice . I gave them the computer thinking and not knowing that you d
need to activate XP . I never knew they changed things so you mus
activate . I have not looked at the computer yet but daughter told m
they can't get to windows now (30 days expired) . Evidently you need t
get an activation key to be able to use the system I installed . I don'
know anything about the XP PRO disc I got with the computer , other tha
it is in a big folder with manuals and also an OFFICE Pro disc . Th
computer is NOT connected to internet yet .
Questions : 1: Should I try to get ativated by phone ?
2: Should I try to get an activation code elsewhere ?
3: Is there a way around activating XP ?
4: Is there a way for me to go back to the Win 2000 (
have discs)
Please feel free to PM me . Thank

If you haven't already entered the product key which is on the packaging
somewhere, then enter that into the activation window. Then just call the
toll free number on the activation screen and activate it. It's basically
the same thing that happens when you do it over the internet, it's just not
done automatically and introduces the chance of human error to the process.

Since there's no Internet connection, that's really your only option,
isn't it?
2: Should I try to get an activation code elsewhere ?
No.

3: Is there a way around activating XP ?

Not legitimately.

Simply boot from the Win2K installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
