revert to pre-upgrade version of XP Pro

I tried installing an upgrade to Windows XP Professional. It got all the way
done and then I had to activate it. Turns out I had already installed the
upgrade on another computer. So now I need to revert to the previous
installed version of XP Pro. Problem is I don't see any restore points when I
startup in Safe Mode. I have the disc for my original version of XP Pro. Can
I just re-install that? If not, how can I get back to my original version of
XP Pro?

Sorry, this is not clear. You installed an XP Pro Upgrade, to XP Pro?
Why?

Of course not. This wouldn't help. It isn't remotely what System Restore
is for.

You can attempt a repair install.

You should be able to just change the key to the correct one, which should
allow activation. Google "change XP key".

However, this *can* lead you to a loop where you can't activate, and the
only way around is to wipe the drive and reinstall.

Otherwise, look in Add/remove Programs. If there's no help there, you
quite possibly have to start over.

Your post is unclear.

Are you saying you upgraded from XP Pro to XP Pro? If so, that doesn't
make any sense!

Were you perhaps trying a repair install? Or maybe trying to upgrade to
a higher Service Pack?
