want to revert to pre-upgrade version

I tried installing an upgrade to Windows XP Professional. It got all the way
done and then I had to activate it. Turns out I had already installed the
upgrade on another computer. So now I need to revert to the previous
installed version of XP Pro. Problem is I don't see any restore points when I
startup in Safe Mode. I have the disc for my original version of XP Pro. Can
I just re-install that? If not, how can I get back to my original version of
XP Pro?

It's just an upgrade CD to upgrade XP Pro. I got from my University because
they have a licensing agreement with Microsoft. All the CD says is "Microsoft
Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2"

So you allready have winxp pro on the PC and you have now installed another
winxp pro?
That wasnt an upgrade you used but a full winxp pro version, what did you
think you were doing?

If both versions are an identical type, simple use your own licence key
