hi there,

i have a laptop that does not have a bootable floppy or cd
drive so i removed the harddrive and installed it into my
desktop computer using an adaptor.

i formatted the laptop drive and installed windows 2000

install worked ok and so i removed the drive from the
desktop and inserted it back into the laptop.

when i boot the laptop up, windows starts, then i get to
the point where windows says 'starting windows' with a
white block underneath, the load bar fills all the way to
the right and then....nothing, it just sits there for ever
(well i left it for an hour and still nothing)

any help appreciated.

Windows 2000 is very sensitive when it comes to HD cloning/replacement.
Systems must be almost identical (MoBo, HD, Video)
--------------------

More specifically, it is the Plug N Play ID of the storage controllers
(IDE, SCSI, etc.) that is important.
