I just purchased a new hard drive to upgrade my old one on my laptop.
I know I have to transfer my files and etc, instead of transfering my
files via a diskette 1-can I tranfer them to my ipod (30g) and then
tranfer them back after the installation 2- I don't have the cd that
came with the laptop for the windows 2000, is there a way I can just
transfer the program to?

There are several ways. One consists of booting the machine with
a Bart PE CD, then using xcopy.exe to copy the whole disk
(including hidden files!) to your iPod. Another involves connecting
both disks as slave disks to a WinXP desktop PC in order to perform
the copy process. You will need a low-cost adapter to do this. Make
sure to connect it the right way or else you will fry your laptop disk!

A third way involves creating an image of your hard disk, using a
program such as Acronis TrueImage.

Thanks I think i'm going to go with option three, I 'm not quite
certain how to do those other tasks and I'm gonna need a "third Party"
to walk me through the steps, i'll let you know how it works out
