new connection wizard options gone

Hi i deleted my dialup before reinstalling xp to try to fix
a connectivity situation
New connection wizard will not alow me to select "connect
using a dial-up modem" the option is faded in the back
round .Have tried a number of combo's including disable
lan card, modem works just fine.Where do i reset this
block . Thakyou for you time
