networking Win98 and Win2K

We have a peer-to-peer network of 5 computers. Three are
Win2K, two are Win98. One of the Win2k computers was just
upgraded from Win98 last week. We are confused by the
various ways each Win2K computer is allowing/not allowing
access to the shared files from the Win98 computers. One
asks for a password, but you can type nothing and hit
enter, and it allows access. Another asks for a password,
and when the correct password is entered from a Win98
computer, it says the password is incorrect. (Access is
allowed from the other Win2K computers). The third Win2K
(the one that was 98 but just upgraded last week) won't
allow access at all; it won't even ask for a password. I'm
confused. I don't know much at all about Win2K and
everyone is turning to me for help on this. So.. HELP!!
Thanks a lot.

Well, 6 pages down in this message list I found the
answer. I simply set up a user name/password on the Win98
computers that matched the one used on 2 of the Win2K
computers (still need to change that third one), and
there's full access to the shared files and printers. Yea!!
