networking problems

my laptop has stopped responding to my network connection
to my main computer. I tired to access it and it says it
is unaccessible or that permission has been denied. It
will not even let me connect to my work groups. I tried
to create a new connection but nothing happened. It did
work till a couple of days ago. Please help!

Has anything been changed on either the desktop or the laptop round
about then?
