network log on

Camroc

LAN
Server: Win 2000 server
Client PC: Win 2000 Pro

I cannot get a client to log on to the network.
It has logged on fine for the past year.
No settings etc. changed.

It will log on as Administrator but not using any other account.

The client PC will hang if I try to log on to the network.

I have checked the NIC and cable etc.

The client PC works fine as well as a standalone.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Camroc.

What errormessage do you get when trying to logon as a user?
Does the ipconfig/all from the client show that everything is pointing to
your server-IP?
How many nics in the server?
All server(s) and workstations fully patched?

Marina,

I don't get any eror message.
The PC justs hangs or freezes when I try to log on as user/
There are 46 clients on the network.
All clients/server aren't patched.

But all the other clients work fine.

Cormac.

Hi Cormac,

Check the eventlogs on that client and the server.
Make sure all clients and server(s) are fully patched.
