Network connection

I'm unable to use internet because when I try to repair my Local Area
Connection I get an error message: Windows could not finish repairing the
problem because the following action cannot be completed: Renewing your IP
Address

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Are you connected to the Internet through a router? Or are you connect
directly through your dsl modem or cable modem?

The error you're receiving can be due to your Internet connection being down
at the moment with the DHCP server on the internet service provider's end
being down.

Thank you for replying, I connect thru the router and my other PC works
fine, my network card is fine, I've eliminated cabling as well. It has to do
with software but I don't know where to start looking.
