Network connection icons gone

I have a third party network connections manager and I want to go back to
letting windows manage my connections. However, when I go to netowrk connex
there are NO icons listed even tho i do have a working connection. I thought
it was that wireless zero config was not running, but it is. If i uninstall
the 3rd party software, there is no icon for me to selet to allow windows to
manage my connections (or configure at all)! Of course, I looked all over
the third parties site for help and was unsuccessful. Any ideas?

Does rebooting help?

Run "services.msc" and make sure that the Network Connections service
is started.

Run "eventvwr.msc" and look for relevant error messages.
