No icons in Network connections folder

I installed XP Professional over XP home OS on a dell desktop since I did not
have the disk for XP Home edition and after that, I cannot connect to the
network. I cannot see any icons in the Network connections folder and when I
tried to look at the devices in the device manager, I dont even see the
"network adapters" device icon there.

Can someone please help me with this.??

You need to install drivers for your network adapter. Get them from Dell's
website for your specific model computer.
