Network Cable Unplugged

Lloyd

Windows XP continues to inform me that my network cable
is unplugged. Here is the troubleshooting I have done. I
have checked the continuity of the cable, it is fine. I
have replaced the NIC to no avail. I have reinstalled XP.
I have hooked up a friends laptop and was able to gain
connection using the same cable. Any assistance would be
welcomed as I have tried everything I can think of to do.

Check the jack that you are plugging into to make sure the
pins are in contact with your plug.

Hi

Go to the Configuration settings for your Network Card and then under the
Advanced option make sure the "Turn off Network Card to Save Power" option
is not ticked in the Power Management Tab.
Had same problem with XP Home and since changing it has never happened
again.
