B

Brian S.

I have nero 6 ultra i use for burning cd's etc. It jams up everytime since i
was away and my machine dl'ed the sp2 pack. I tried add/remove programs,
running it from the hidden folder, recovery console. SP2 is still there. I
don't need it or want it.

Can anyone post to help me get rid of it other then a reinstall. i would
appreciate it.

A repair install will remove SP2.

Repair the Windows XP Installation

Configure your computer to start from the CD-ROM drive. For more information
about how to do this, please refer to your computer's documentation or
contact your computer manufacturer.

Insert your Windows XP compact disc (CD) into your CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM
drive, and then restart your computer.

(You can also boot with a Windows 98/Me Startup disk with CD support and run
WINNT.EXE in the I386 folder on the CD)

When the "Press any key to boot from CD" message is displayed on your
screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.

When you see the following message displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen,
press ENTER: To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER.

At this point an option to press R to enter the Recovery Console is
displayed. Do not select this option.

On the Windows XP Licensing Agreement screen, press F8 to agree to the
license agreement. Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is
selected in the box, and then press the R key to repair Windows XP. Follow
the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.

Brian;
Nero 6 Ultra worked fine on my Windows XP SP-2 computer.
Try reinstalling Nero 6.
Have you installed the latest updates from Nero?

Simply uninstalling SP-2 is not a good option if you have not
investigated further.

i downloaded option 1 that was on their site as of july 25th. it is for the
6.6.1 version. It still locks up at 7%. I tried it with a regular data disc
and my win xp disc which i didn't have a problem last year when i made a
back up. i cracked my back up while moving my stuff out of storage. i
plugged in the machine and it started d/ling sp2. i even took off the virus
scanner to see if that was bugging out nero.

any other sugestions? i dont have any junk or spyware on my machine.
