Nero 7 Ultra Won't Start

I originally installed the trial version of Nero 7 Ultra 7.5.9.0 two
days ago on my new computer with XP Media Center Edition (HP computer).
When I went to use it yesterday none of the Nero applications would
start. I downloaded, installed and used the full version of Nero with
no problems. It wouldn't work again when I tried to use it this
morning. I did a clean install (removed every nero file - but no
registry edits) and got it working again. I went to use it tonight and
- again - it wouldn't open.

I did a virus scan when I stopped using the computer this morning (and
yesterday also). Is it possible my Panda anti-virus is reading a Nero
file as a virus?

Just one idea. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry I don't know what's causing your problems but here are a few ideas.
Have you check the Panda scan logs to see if Panda did anything? What are
the settings in Panda for when it finds an infection? Is it set to
quarantine and/or repair or what? Check to see what's been quarantined.
Change the settings to just alert you to a possible problem but wait for you
to tell it what to do.

Have you checked with Nero tech support or on their user forums?

Uninstall Nero, install it again, then run a Panda scan and see what
happens.

Have you checked your event logs? application logs?

I don't think you meant to post this to me, I'm not the one with the
problem. It's a good suggestion for the OP, though, I meant to tell them
that but forgot.

Do you have Microsoft's .Net Framework installed? This is the first
retail utility that I have seen that requires this.

Note that the issue is not having the .net framework installed, but of
having a specific version of the .net framework installed (one version can
not substitute for another). Unfortunately I can't remember which version
Nero 7 requires.

Drive Image 7 required it and the Vista Upgrade Advisor. So does ATI for
some of their software. What is important is that the right version of .Net
be installed. The higher numbered versions are not upgrades, so if it needs
..Net 1.1, for example, then .Net 2.0 won't work.
