Needing Windows ME disk

The Windows ME loaded on my system came with my computer
and I have the valid ME product key sticker on the side
of the box to prove it. Just no CD. It's not corrupt
and has no viruses.

Just can't figure out why Windows XP does't recognize
it. The "upgrade" version that I bought will not go past
this point without the original ME cd.

Is there anyway around this or do I just have to take a
loss on what I've bought and go buy the full-blown
version of XP?

Without a qualifying, previous version of a Windows 95/98/ME
installation CD, you cannot perform a "clean install" using the
"upgrade version" of Windows XP. In that case, you'll need the
"full version" of Windows XP.
